"The picture was taken at the national convention of the Sons of The American Legion two weeks ago in Charlotte, NC. Those in the picture were delegates from the Detachment (state) of Minnesota. In Minnesota we are almost 11,000 strong and nationally we are about 360,000. The Sons of The American Legion is a program of The American Legion, which is 2.4 million members strong. The American Legion is an organization which is made up of wartime veterans. As a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, I am a proud member of both organizations. "
