"In its first year of existence, the Montclair Cooperative School Chess Team placed 4th in the New Jersey State Primary School Championship. Clutch performances in the final two matches proved to be the difference, as the kids scored ahead of other schools that had had teams for years. The design on the shirts was designed to be a riff on the school's official logo."
