The photograph was taken on July 1, 2012 at the Krausse Cottage at Bowlers
Wharf VA on the Rappahannock River. The event was a family reunion of Chris
& Spott (deceased) Krausse's 4 grown children and their families. In total
there were 24 people present for the photo, with ages that span 4
generations (4-89). Missing were 4 that were present on June 30 but were
unable to attend the Sunday & Monday event. Family members traveled from
close by: Richmond, Chesterfield, & Hampton VA and far away: Huntsville AL,
Port Orange FL, and Long Beach CA.
We are a sports oriented family that enjoys games. To create some hype and
build up, I came up with the Krausse Cup theme where family units would
compete in Mind & Body games. Top games were Gobblet and Corn Hole/Washer
Toss. Along with this was color T Shirts by family unit. Each family came
up with at name for their family unit.
Team Names were:
Team Grandstand
Team Lightening
Team SkiBob (missing in photo)
Rivah Rats
The Alabama Slammers
As they say "A Good Time Was Had By All"
I planned to order T Shirts for this event. I had done so previously from a
another company for a smaller family function, but ordered the same shirt
for all. Custom Ink was a top line selection on the web. After a quick
review of its layout and shirt options capability, I decided to learn the
particulars and create an order. I was very impressed with the various
aspects of Custom Ink, from the web application to the customer service and
personal interaction. The main selling point was the fact that we could
have the same front design, team name on the back of the shirt, and change
the color of the shirt. I received a tip on a call that the ink color was
an important factor to help manage cost. I created a matrix for Team Name &
Font Style, Shirt Color and Ink Color. This was converted to an accurate
and timely order delivery. I will come back again, when there is a need for
shirts etc.
There was an added intangible that came with the team shirts. The
grandchildren were psyched about the whole tournament format. The older
ones (my sons) began smack talking before hand via email strings. There was
an added camaraderie through spirited but friendly competition among
families. Thanks for helping make this happen."
