"On March 28, 2013, Kiana residence participated in the Choose Respect Walk, which was started by Alaska Governor Sean Parnell. Since his pledge in December of 2009 over 140 Alaskan communities joined in the efforts to stop the epidemic of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sexual abuse in Alaska.
