#BlackQueensMatter Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

"The Black Student Union at UC San Diego coordinated an event to raise awareness of the prevalence of Breast Cancer in the African-American/Black community. We had an major objective to bring attention to the disparities of mortality rates along with inequality of access to preventative health care and treatment not only for Black women but ALL women. We used these shirts as a way to send a message of hope to women everywhere and throughout our campus. We conducted a social media campaign to raise awareness online by wear our custom designed shirts and holding messages of hope. This photograph shows a small group that participated in our event.
